In May of 2018, AC2T proudly announced a solidified partnership in Laos. A beautiful country with a kind and gentle people, whose years-long struggle is economy and war. We felt its distinction as the most heavily bombed country (per capita) in history presented a potential need for us to get involved and help in any way we can.
By August of 2018, AC2T joined with our local partners in Xieng Ngern district of Laos for the grand opening of the Anat Khamkong (Adam Hirsch) – My English House. The school is a place where, for the first time in decades, local children have access to an education and a chance to build a better future. AC2T invested $60,149 to construct and furnish the school. We provided educational materials and supplies My English House would need to teach the children of Laos. By August 1, 2019, AC2T had invested an additional $77,584 in support of the continued operation and success of My English House.
AC2T also established our annual Teach in Laos program, where AC2T provides an all-expense paid trip for two Mississippi teachers to travel to Laos and teach English. In May 2019, teachers from two Pine Belt area schools were chosen, one from Oak Grove Primary and one from PCS Elementary.
